ABOUT OUR FARMHOUSE...

Welcome to our home. It is a 1910 shaker-style white farmhouse on a hill, but to us, it is so much more. It is an answer to prayer and a dream that became a reality before our eyes. No really, it was a real dream. A dream I had of my husband leading me down a dirt road surrounded by hay fields to an old abandoned house and a small building covered in ivy...

For about 4 years we pined and prayed about leaving our very comfortable and settled life in a beautiful home in an area that we loved. But our hearts yearned for more, er...less. We would go on long country drives and daydream about what it would be like to surround ourselves and our collections in the type of homes we spent most of our weekends in, old homes with integrity and a story to tell, with a big garden outside. To slow down & live more simply.

We looked far and wide and realized what we were looking for was not easy to come by, no matter how far and wide we searched. Time came and went, our previous house came and went, even an 1895 historic farmhouse & barn we thought was meant for us came and went. But our faith never went. We believed this dream was still waiting for the right timing, so the hunt continued!

In 2014 the time had come for our dream to become a reality! One that we could see, feel, touch, even smell! We could see the dew-covered hay fields through the old wavy glass windows, feel the smoothed original fir floors under our feet, touch the tattered wall paper, and smell the wood burning in the fireplace on a cold winter’s day.  Wouldn't you believe, this dream of ours was always there...always waiting for the right time to find us...and it was just around the bend from our previous home! Yes, we had driven by it many times over the course of 4 years, but never even knew it was there!! It has been hiding, waiting for just the right moment, hidden behind years of blackberry bushes, untrimmed trees, and believe it or not-- it is down a dirt drive, surrounded by hay fields, and the old root cellar is covered in ivy—just like in my dream!

Our home is our sanctuary and it is our honor to be humble stewards of the history here. We try to be intentional about slowing down & embracing a more meaningful way of life, taking time for the details. My husband Danny, our pup Ava, and I, together are the heart that makes this farmhouse a home. We still love to spend our weekends on the road finding treasures for your home and ours. If we aren't doing that, you can find us in our big garden or spending time with friends and family, or both at the same time! One thing we really look forward to is someday resurrecting an old dairy barn that burnt down about 8 years before we lived here. Thank you for sharing in our journey, check back often & see what we’re up to!
