Danny’s Office Part 2

I though it would be fun to ask my hubby some questions so you can get his take on all this. Kind of like an interview…it was fun! Here’s what he had to say:

What made you start liking old things?

Ok, I’m being honest…some people might think its gross…but I’m a boy! I remember when I was a young rebel, back when I was 6 years old. I used to dig through the dumpsters in the ally of our apartment complex in California. My friends and I would find sooooo many fun things in or around the dumpsters. Once we even found an old couch and we all labored together to drag out of the dump…it stunk…and we sat on it and used it. We were…resourceful…yes, that is a great word to use : ) What happens on the House of Harvest blog, stays on the House of Harvest blog.

What do you like about your office?

I love going into my office because it first reminds me of Lindsea, of course, and the sacrifice she made to design my office. The second thing I like about my office is the feeling of living in the past. I know that sounds weird. More like reflecting on the past rather than living in the past. I enjoy working in my office and looking at the early 1900’s photograph of the American workplace. So simple, but they worked so hard. Reminds me of a time when an agreement was sealed with a handshake and it meant something. When honor, commitment and hard work were important. It inspires me to live that way.

What is a cool find you’ve had lately?

I found a handful of very early authentic Edison bulbs that still work.

What is something you’re on the hunt for?

I love the excitement of finding out what piece is looking for me…. finding a piece that I was not looking for. I have been trying to find the original ‘flux capacitor’ (Back to the Future)… jk… hmmm…probably an antique Leica camera.

That’s my husband! Yep, never knew I could feel so many emotions all at once, pride, embarrassment, love and acceptance lol. Ok, for all of you photo lovers out there (including myself) I thought I would give you some fun closeups of the things in Danny’s office. Half the fun of these items is examining the old, character-giving details, so enjoy the little things!
