Dr. Pierce’s Barn

Danny and I went on a little road trip this weekend and he has been hankerin’ to visit this beautiful barn in Toledo, WA. This amazing historic barn has a funny little (well, maybe not so little) slogan painted on the sides. It reads, “For Weak Women Dr. Pierces Favorite Prescription.”

I wonder what this prescription cured lol! From what I read, Dr. Pierce was quite the salesman, leading the way with the “fix it fast with a prescription” sales pitch so common nowadays. If this “Golden Medical Discovery” cures weak woman of their need to swoon over every historic barn and farmhouse we pass by, then I don’t want to be cured.

It was such a beautiful day to take pictures! We rushed to get to the barn as the looming storm clouds were creeping in. You can see how fast the wind was blowing by in the pictures….see the blue then quickly dark grey skies. I love the drama!

I don’t think that Washington weather has gotten the memo that it is mid June.. I almost wish I was posting this in October, leading way into a cozy, moody autumn. But for these pictures, I will gladly accept the impending fate of these gloomy clouds.

Danny was really excited to see what this gorgeous barn looked like behind the lens of one of his antique folding cameras. I think it suits the mood of this stormy farm photo quite nicely, don’t you think?

Here’s one in black and white (a step back in time, special for my hubby) ;)

Hope you guys enjoyed following us on our little adventure!  And for all you “weak women” out there…keep on going after all those things that make you “weak in the knees”!
