Junk in the Trunk: Chippy Workbench

Ok, I have a confession…I think I might be turning into a cool stuff hoarder. Seriously, I feel like everything I pick might be the ONLY one of its kind, and I can just picture how each item would help complete our some day farmhouse, so I just keep and keep and keep…what is a girl to do LOL! I hear lots of people in this industry talk about not getting “emotionally attached” and just making money, but I guess I am just wired differently. I don’t buy something if I am not emotionally attached. Can you guys relate? I think I wouldn’t enjoy what I do nearly as much if I purely picked things for profit. Is that a crime?

Here is my junk in the trunk this week…I have had dreams about this piece..literally! It is an old, chippy, somewhat primitive handmade work bench. She is a light, almost white blue/grey, with dark wood top, full of oil stains, paint splatter, rusty handles and chippy paint galore! Gahhh, so here is another piece I can’t quite let go of yet…for now she is sitting pretty behind our sofa. Maybe some day I can let her go, but generally I need to spend some time with most of the things I buy…you know..to hear their story for a little while. If I didn’t it would be like buying the cow and not getting the milk for free…around here we “GOT MILK”. hehe

Did you notice this was my first big piece featured on Junk in the Trunk?

I think she’s a good one for a first time, don’t you?

Also featured: our first sunny, warm day of Spring! We are lovin it!

Did you guys find any scores this weekend? Send your “Junk in the Trunk” find to me at Lindsea@houseofharvest.com. You might just see it here one day!
