Junk in the Trunk: Library Card Cabinet

Hello my lovely House of Harvest family! No chit chat for this week’s junk in the trunk….I am just too excited to show you what it is!! I considered calling this “Awesomeness in the Trunk” instead of “Junk in the Trunk”. Yeeee! Here it is…an old Library Card Cabinet!! Gahhhh, we have been looking for one of these, and we finally found one. Both the hubby and I are SO attached to this piece!! It has a base too, but fit better without it. Either way…it is gorgeous!
We could not wait to get it out of the car!
Confession: we have so many bigger pieces we actually could not find a place for this baby to take center stage. We thought the only space for it was tucked away in our bedroom. But we couldn’t stomach the idea of it being hidden. So we opened the doors to our bedroom and put it front and center. Literally, we cannot close the doors, HA! But Danny and I agreed that seeing this old card catalog every time we walk down the hall was worth a lifetime of being forced to make our bed every day and clean up our clothes LOL!
I love the stamp in the corner and the wear on each handle.
The varying wood tones of each door gets me every time, mmmmm…
Each drawer is cut the same and beautifully dove-tailed.
3 Drawers slide out so you can write down your books to check out for that day. Can you see the way the wood is worn away more in certain places…can you say “Pa-tin-a”?
Every time I walk by I think “I am in a dream?”…”Do I really own that…is it really in my bedroom right now?” Yes, as I pinch myself. Wow, we are totally nerding out over this one. So worth every minute of nerdy-ness. Do you guys have any pieces that send you into a totally cheesy, amazingly dorky stupor?
