San Juan Islands

Last week we took a little mini vacation up north to the beautiful San Juan Island in our home state of Washington with some dear friends. It is hard to believe we have such a beautiful place just a few hours away and this was our first time going! The San Juan’s are probably most famous for the stunning killer whales that inhabit the waters there. We JUST missed them by about 5 minutes when they started heading up toward British Columbia, GAH! Oh well, I guess that gives us an excuse to go back. We were lucky enough to see many deer, red fox, bald eagles and seals.

I think I was most surprised by the picturesque landscape  with historic farm houses everywhere! I guess I assumed since life on an island isn’t always easy, that not many people lived there very early on. It’s ok though, y’all know I didn’t mind touring the island snapping pictures of every farm I could!  The whole trip was so fun and refreshing, and a great way to spend the last lazy days of summer! Not to mention, the leaves were already falling all around us, turning beautiful shades of orange, yellow and red. Fall is just around the corner, yeee!! But back to the trip..since a picture is worth a thousand words, here are 19,000 words for you to enjoy. What a jabber mouth I am hehe!

We even got to take a spin on these cool little scooter cars..I guess they call them “Scootcoops” HA! We had a blast pushing the 40 mph limit on these bad boys!

Wouldn’t it be lovely to call this place home? What could be better, a beautiful old farm house with lush rolling acres and the sea beckoning from your back porch. I could get used to that!

Can you believe there was a little adorable white pumpkin in this picture?! I didn’t even see it until after!

Mmmmm…..a sunset painted sky to end our fabulous trip full of farms, friends and fun!
