Time for a pic-a-nic!

The sun beams glared through the windows this morning, taunting me to wake up and enjoy my long awaited autumn picnic! I grabbed my things and scooted out the door, eager to enjoy a beautiful day in the midst of a rainy spell. Isn’t there something comforting about seeing the robins skimming from spot to spot after a few rainy days, happily chirping and searching out little wiggly unearthed worms. Like it’s natures way of saying “even after the storm, there are bountiful, sunny picnic days ahead!!” In the pacific northwest, you never know when the weather might turn gloomy for the season, so we get pretty good at enjoying nice weather while it lasts!

My French baskets came in completely handy for this fall outing. Functional and beautiful, killer combo!

I love the wayward branches of the apple tree, dancing in all directions, filled with jewels of crisp, bright ruby apples! Good thing I brought my apple bucket

With all the apples we collect, I may just have to make more of my Autumn Fruit Salad with Honey Thyme Syrup! Or how about enjoying the apples just fresh off the vine…er…branch, yum!

I also brought along some hot cider and cranberry pumpkin bread. This fall favorite bread is full of warm spices with a rich, moist texture. Check back in a few days for the recipe!

Thanks for joining me on a cozy autumn picnic today!
